When Queens Park Rangers football club opened their new training facility in Heston, they wanted social media content that reflected the importance of this investment to send out to the press and their fanbase. After much research, they appointed Drone Solutions to produce a FPV (first-person view) drone flythrough of their facility as well as a conventional drone footage to show the scale of their training complex. The project was not without its challenges. Heston is right next door to Heathrow. Drone Solutions had to negotiate with both Heathrow Air Traffic Control and the Police to allow the flight to go ahead. After discussions over several weeks and agreeing height restrictions and geofencing, permission was granted. In addition, the deadline was very tight. QPR needed to send the content out very soon after the opening of their facility, so the filming, the editing and all changes had to be complete within 48 hours. And the final film had to be of the very highest quality. We didn’t let them down, they were delighted, the post had many 10 of thousands of views and the fan reaction was superb.
